Good advice. After 20+ years as a freelance graphic designer, I still have lots to learn. Number 10 is a good one. If you don’t believe in yourself, you won’t be able to sell yourself to others. Stand up for yourself, dig in and don’t let anyone talk you into selling yourself short. They came to you because they don’t know how to do it. Remember that. Don’t allow room for “negotiation”. Do you negotiate in a restaurant? At the movies? Buying clothes? Paying taxes? What gives anyone the right to negotiate YOUR rates?

That’s so true Fresno. When every other professional is given the right to demand a salary according to their skills, why not a graphic designer!
