7 Video Tutorials on Creating a Logo
One of the most important things when it comes to creating, starting and especially branding your company is coming up with a logo that can represent your brand. In fact there are loads of different reasons that you would need a logo elsewhere too: Sports, Gaming, App Design, Poster Art and so many more. This means it’s crucial to get a logo that represents your brand, identity and what you are offering.
This is why we have come up with a list of 7 video tutorials on creating a logo. These video tutorials will teach you techniques to use in Photoshop, Illustrator and other forms of software along with ideals and suggestions on what you should be thinking about when it comes to branding the logo.
Our first video tutorial is by a YouTuber called ‘creatnprocess’ and they’ve created a video on how to professionally design a logo that looks like the one you see in the screenshot above. In the video, you will go through how to apply proper color on each piece. A leaf-like shape is created and repeatedly rotated in an angle. Each having four different colors. Their overlapping surfaces are shaded with brighter colors with different shades. At the end, the drop shadow is applied to give some depth of feel.
Here we have a very nice video on how to create a more letter-based logo which is often what a lot of application logos and even companies use. You’ll learn techniques such as colouring, adding that glazed-glass effect which is a really nice touch. There’s some great techniques to be learnt in this video that only runs for 9 minutes, so you can learn a lot in under 10 minutes of your time.
This video takes a slightly different turn to the rest on this list and isn’t exactly a direct video tutorial in the literal sense. However, we think that a video tutorial is when the video takes you through the process of designing a great design. This video does exactly that offering you up tips and tricks to help you when it comes to branding yourself, creating a certain logo style and other ideas you may need help with for your logo design.
This video is arguably one of the best out there when it comes to creating typographical logos as it offers up such a unique and intelligent style when it comes to showing you the course of creating great typographical logos from a simple text. The video takes you from having multiple versions of the exact same looking text to having multiple versions of that text but with lots of different potential looks. This video will take you through adding backgrounds, borders, font styles and font sizes, editing backdrops, shadowing and so much more. It’s an easy tutorial to follow also, making it more accessible for Illustrator newcomers.
Our next video tutorial is for the hardcore users who are looking to sit down and spend over an hour of their time to create a simply incredible-looking logo with a high level of detail, finish and professional skills. This video teaches you hundreds of tricks from shading, to lighting, to typography, to character design, to gradients and so much more. It’s a tutorial that clearly took a long time to make and one that will have you creating one of the best designs you’ve ever made. It’s truly a great tutorial and is easy to follow as the designer doesn’t go too fast, nor too slow.
This is another video tutorial by the YouTube channel ‘creatnprocess’, it offers up a similar tutorial to the aforementioned one, however in this one you’ll be creating a 3d looking logo with different material types. As a result, you’ll be learning different techniques to their previous video. You’ll be learning a lot more about shadowing, lighting effects and a lot more techniques on how to make your image look three dimensional which may be important t you if that’s the sort of design you’re looking to implement within your final logo design.
This final video is a simple one that shows you how to create a basic logo, introducing you to some useful Illustrator tools, but it’s main highlighting feature is how to use the Blend tool. This is a key tool to use when creating a logo as it can give logos a drop shadow, it can give objects the look of moving, it can make objects looked blur and more. Therefore, being able to use this Blend tool is something a lot of Logo designers would benefit from knowing!
