Top Android Apps and Games This Week (05/07/2015)
We are back again, offering you up the best Android Apps and Games you can download this week. This post will be weekly and will highlight the best apps and games you may not have found yet. These will not only include the biggest and best new apps to the Google Play Store but also previously well-known applications that received notable updates, improving them significantly. This week we have: Vainglory finally comes to Android, a World War II warship battle game, a new genre of game from Lego, a tower defense game that allows you to pit dinosaurs against each other… yeah!
Vainglory is a MOBA for mobile. Vainglory is arguably the best MOBA for mobile. It’s a great that’s been released for iOS for quite some time now and is backed by a company who are really looking to bring mobile gaming to eSports. Vainglory offers up plenty of heroes for you to choose from, sticking to the usual MOBA rules with tanks, jungle heroes, ranged heroes etc. Vainglory only uses one or two lanes as opposed to the 3 or 5 you usually find on desktop MOBAs. Vainglory also offers up arguably the most beautiful graphics we’ve ever seen on a mobile game. Shadows, lighting, dust particles and all sorts create a game that would truly hold it’s own against the likes of League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm and DOTA as a desktop MOBA. Expect to see the usual circumstance of in-game currency won by playing and especially winning matches and these can be used to purchase new heroes or skins, or use real-life money.
Warship Battle: 3D World War II (FREE)
Warship Battle: 3D World War II looks to take you into the waters of the battles during World War 2 with episodic adventures each featuring 5 missions among them. This game may have one of the tap-bait names but has actually a really good rating, plays really well and has been really well supported with new content since it’s release with Episode 7 and 8 only just being released, including 10 new missions. On top of this, you have the option to customise your ships with upgrades and new looks. It’s a great little game, that once downloaded, doesn’t need an active network connection to carry on playing, unlike most games you download these days.
Bad Dinos ($2.99)
If you love dinosaurs and you love tower defense games then you’ll love Bad Dinos. Bad Dinos takes a really creative graphical design and incorporates a tower defense theme into it. You basically protect your cave home from the dangerous dinos and then you can capture them to pit them against one another in battle. The game uses similar elements as other decent tower defense games, you have towers which can be upgraded and improved upon as the levels obviously get more and more difficult. You can also upgrade your taming skills to capture stronger and level up your dinosaurs to attack. Plus, this is a pay-once-and-play game, meaning no in-app purchases.
Lego Minifigures Online ($4.99)
Lego have just introduced not only a brand new game out of the blue but also a game that isn’t tied to the latest movie franchise or isn’t all about the building aspect. In fact, Lego Minifigures Online is a Lego Minifigure collectible MMO. Yes, that’s right. MMO. For the price you pay on the mobile platform, you can play the first world of the online MMO and then pay for other worlds as you go along. You collect new Minifigures by either playing through the game, buying them with the studs you collect or getting separate packages on Amazon and such. Each Minifigure has their own set of animations and different Minifigures specialise in certain areas, whether it be fighting, building or other mechanics within the game. It’s a kid-friendly game and so don’t expect a WoW level of detail, but it’s still a great game to play and collecting things is always a big draw.
