This portable cooler received huge backing on Kickstarter and it’s easy to see why. The humble cooler hasn’t had much of an update for years, but this all-in-one 21st century ‘portable party’ packs a huge amount of gadgets in. As well as a cooler box with removeable divider, there a rechargeable blender, waterproof bluetooth speaker, USB charger, LED light, bottle opener, knife and plate storage, plus handle and ties for things like a picnic blanket or barbecue.

3Doodler 2.0
This cool Kickstarter gadget is the second version of the popular 3Doodler that enables you to create 3D printed objects with a pen. The 3Doodler uses sticks of plastic that are melted and set into shape after they’ve been doodled. The 2.0 model is slim, light and strong with dual speed control and a host of accompanying accessories.

OUYA: A New Kind Of Video Game Console
One of the most backed Kickstarter projects, the OUYA is an android game console that works with TVs. The inexpensive open console allows developers to create games for the console and anyone can play them for free.

SCiO
SCiCO is an affordable molecular scanner that fits into the palm of the hand and can provide instant information about the molecular make up of anything to your smartphone. The sensor already had a database of plants, pharmaceuticals and food materials but users were encouraged to scan as much as they could when they got the sensor so as to expand the database. It’s not clear what people would actually use the sensor for (except for fun) but it received funding well in excess of its Kickstarter goal.

Prynt
Prynt received publicity as the first instant camera case for smartphones that could print a photo in seconds, then recognise the photo through the camera and play an augmented reality video. The video is captured while the photo is being taken so the physical photo can be brought to life through the smartphone’s screen.

Earin
This cool Kickstarter project was created to provide funding for high quality wireless earbuds designed to be the most comfortable and smallest in the world. The earbuds connect via bluetooth and have an advanced battery as well as balance armature speakers that recharge via a USB cable.

Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift is a gaming headset that provides a virtual reality gaming experience with a wide field of view, high resolution display and head tracker. The Kickstarter project raised money for Rift development kits so that more games could be integrated with the headset.

Anova Precision Cooker
This was a great Kickstarter project for the kitchen that raised funds for production of the sous vide gadget. The Anova Precision Cooker uses any pot to create a water bath cooker set at a precision temperature that cooks food to perfection in a zip loc bag. Previous sous vide cookers had been too expensive for home use, but this model is affordable and also connects to an app that allows the user to control the Anova.
